Well, don’t be surprised they believe in the upliftment of the society through them, literally! Pillai convinces Habel that they will be forming a zillion committees prior to the construction which includes the discussion of the critical condition of the bridge, the demolishment committee, the construction committee, the naming committee, the statue building committee, and finally the inauguration committee. Habel, however, is doubtful about how the plan is going to benefit them since the government will be granting only the fund that is required. Pillai discusses the whole bridge construction plan with her. Pillai comforts him by saying that as there is nothing to inaugurate, how would a politician step foot in their town or deliver a speech! Although Pillai isn’t bothered much about the ‘uneventful’ situation, the young man surely planted a seed (you can decide if it's good or bad, after watching the whole movie), in his mind.Īfter leaving Kurup’s house, Pillechan rushes to visit another panchayat member Rahel (Sukumari), and her husband Habel (Jagathy Sreekumar).
